Nationwide lockdown: necessary stores and places remaining open

As the coronavirus epidemic continues to spread in France, the situation is said to be preoccupying in France which led the government to instate new restrictions. All non-necessary stores must close starting April 3 and up to May 2, 2021. Discover necessary stores and places still open in France over the course of the third lockdown.

Faced with the preoccupying increase in coronavirus epidemic indicators in some territories in France, a new 24/7 lockdown has been decided in the entire country. The lockdown is to start from April 3 at midnight and last 4 weeks, at least, namely up to May 2, 2021.

Trips are therefore limited. Yet, you are allowed to go out and take a breath of fresh air within 10 kilometers around your home, excluding any time limit, but before 7 p.m. and with a derogatory trip certificate. It also means that non-necessary stores and places must close.

During his address, French President has detailed the list of stores allowed to open for the coming weeks will not change. Furthermore, sale restrictions will apply to the same products sold in supermarkets.

Necessary stores allowed to stay open during lockdown:

  • Vehicle, motor vehicle, agricultural vehicle and equipment maintenance, repair, and safety inspection

  • Meat and meat-based product specialized retailer
  • Fish, crustacean, and shellfish specialized retailer
  • Bread, pastry and candy specialized retailer
  • Drink specialized retailer
  • Other food specialized retailer
  • Food distribution provided by charities
  • Gasoline and fuel specialized retailer
  • IT and communication equipment specialized retailer
  • Computer, peripheric unit and software specialized retailer (including video game store)
