After a first mandate particularly marks by the closure of the embankment roads, and the speed limit on the ring road moved from 80 to 70km/h (49 to 43mph), Anne Hidalgo is planning new measures limiting cars within Paris. among them, the speed limited to 30km/h (18mph) generalized in the entire city.

Advocated by the Citizen Convention for the Climate, the measure had been subject to public consultation in October 2020. Now, a deadline has been confirmed: according to a statement made to AFP by David Beilliarddeputy mayor for transports and public roads – this limit is to be officially implemented from late August.

Therefore, in all the streets of the French city, the limit is to move from 50 to 30km/h (31 to 18mph), excluding on the main roads. Furthermore, for this second mandate, Paris Mayor said she wants to lower the speed limit on the ring road again, and it could be moved from 70 to 50 km/h (43 to 31mph).
