Bad news for tourists and other travelers departing from or arriving to Morocco… Because of the Covid epidemic, the Moroccan authorities have announced that starting March 30, at 11:50 p.m. (UTC+1), no more flight will be allowed from and to France, as well as from and to Spain, until further notice, the time contamination cases decrease enough.
“As part of the preventive measures taken by Morocco against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, passenger flights to and from France and Spain will be suspended from tomorrow, March 30, 2021, at 11:59 p.m., and this until further notice”, the minister explains in a press release shared on social networks. Airlines involved have been informed about the suspension of flights as they ran flights from and to the country.

Flights suspended also confirmed by domestic airline Royal Air Maroc. The closure of borders with both EU countries is not total: “special passenger flights from both destinations will be subject to reinforced controls, in compliance with the health protocol set by the competent Moroccan bodies”, the Minister of Tourism stated. France and Spain then make it to the list of 40 countries flights from and to are banned. A list also including Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and even Belgium – among others.
