Will tourists be able to go to France this summer? This is the question raised by many tourism professionals as the summer season is coming. This Sunday April 18, 2021, interviewed by CBS, Emmanuel Macron announced travel restrictions will be eased from early May. “We will organize in the summertime with our professionals in France for French European citizens, but as well for American citizens”, he stated in the ‘Face The Nation’ show. “We will progressively lift the restrictions of the beginning of May, which means that we will organize in the summertime with our professionals in France for French European citizens, but as well for American citizens”, the French President added. “So we are working hard to propose a very concrete solution, especially for U.S. citizens who are vaccinated, so with a special pass, I would say”, he went on mentioning talks on this very matter were going on with the White House.

Emmanuel Macron also reminded the European Union were working on implementation a European health pass. The goal? “To facilitate the travels after these restrictions between the different European countries with testing and vaccination”, he said.
During the interview with CBS, the French Head of State also reaffirmed his will to vaccinate 20 million French by mid-May, 30 million by mid-June, and all adults wishing to be by the end of summer.
But for now, more and more travel restrictions are instated to curb variants. On April 17, 2021, France announced a 10-day self-isolation mandatory for travelers coming from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and South Africa.
