France is to enter the third step of the lockdown exit starting from June 9, 2021. Curfew, working from home, restaurants, health pass, here is what changes from this day forth.

In France, the improvement of the situation amid the coronavirus epidemic leads the country to complete a four-step lockdown exit scheme. The different steps mark an easing of restrictions, as well as reopenings if the evolution of the health crisis enables to do so. The third step of the lockdown exit scheme decided on by the government is to start from June 9, 2021. What changes from this day forth, then?

Starting from June 9, 20201, curfew is postponed again, but this time by 11 p.m. instead of 9 p.m. This is the last phase before curfew is fully lifted – as planned for June 30, 2021. For the first time, working from home can be eased. As for the reopening calendar, cafés and restaurants are given the green light to reopen indoor dining rooms with a fitted gauge and health protocol. Tables must not exceed 6 patrons. Gyms can also reopen: outdoor contact sports and indoor contact-free sports are allowed again. Cultural places and sports facilities can now receive up to 5,000 people holding a health pass. The latter will also allow foreign tourists to travel to France.
