Every summer, Paris changes and uncovers great concept for Parisians’ and tourists’ greatest joy! This year, the Bois de Vincennes is likely becoming the most coveted places in town. Let us explain why!

Like a summer hit, sunny days in Paris grow great places quickly taken over by Parisians and tourists. But over the years, each summer, a neighborhood in Paris becomes the season’s hot spot. This time, it is likely that the epicenter of festivities is set by the Bois de Vincennes.

To attract crowds from all over Paris, three iconic terraces are coming to the Bois de Vincennes, each with a very uncommon concept. First, there is La Bamba – former Jardin Suspendu – coming to the Parc Floral again. By the Porte Dorée, it is the guinguette-like terrace of the famous Rosa Bonheur that comes in! Last but not least, Le Chalet du Lac – iconic location in the Bois de Vincennes – creates a surprise and comes with a giant beach.

A new chapter opens for the Jardin Suspendu. Still managed by Passage Enchanté - renamed Enchanté - the huge bucolic and temporary rerrace set at the Parc Floral enjoys a new name and becomes La Bamba. Meet from June 18, 2021 in Eastern Paris to make the most of this new festive and convivial place likely to improve this new and highly expected summer season.

Beyond these three festive addresses, the Bois de Vincennes is also a spot making everyone agree. For great moments with your friends, a romantic break with your loved one, or a family outing, you will find something to do. You can discover the Parc Floral, enjoy a bicycle ride among peacocks and the youngest ones can enjoy the fantastic playground. The Ferme de Paris is also a spot you do not want to miss to meet animals.

On the Lac Daumesnil, or by the Lac des Minimes, rent a boat for a charming boat ride. Do not forget to pop in the Palais de l’Immigration where stands the Aquarium Tropical, or by the Château de Vincennes.

Paris Aquarium Tropical, the one within Palais de la Porte Dorée, reopens from June 1, 2021, after a year of renovations. Created in 1931 for the Colonial Fair to present the aquatic fauna from the French colonies, the aquarium has been thought over since then. It currently houses 750 species of small fishes and welcomes new lodgers, more fitted to space.

Did you know? By the Bois de Vincennes, the Parc Floral is a super great place for children and grown-ups. On the menu, strolls surrounded by peacocks and beautiful plants, open-air games for children, miniature gold, four-wheeled bicycle rides, botanical wonders and more!

The Bois de Vincennes is filled with more secret or surprising places. For instance, you can visit a pagoda housing a Tibetan Buddhist temple, historic Buddha relics given by Thailand, as well as the highest Buddha in Europe. The Jardin d’Agronomie Tropicale is also a strange place where are found remnants of pavilions from the 1907 Colonial Fair. The place has been left untouched and has been partially renovated. It now provides an uncommon place. Last but not least, since 2017, the Bois de Vincennes has been housing a naturist area for some part of the year!
