Faced with the rise of Covid cases in France, the government decided to ban standing shows. During the press conference held this Thursday January 20, 2022, Jean Castex delivered the dates lifting restrictions. This is now official, standing shows will resume from February 16, 2022.

In France, the fifth wave has been marked by record-breaking data. With the explosion of new contaminations and consequently the incidence rate, a two-front battle occured because of the Delta and Omicron variants, really challenging this new epidemic resurgence.

A situation that led the government to multiply restrictions since late 2021. On the eve of the New Year 2022, the executive announced the ban of standing shows, as well as limited gauges, and the ban of drinking or eating whilst standing in bars and restaurants. Measures instated since Monday January 3, 2022.

But time has come to wonder about the lifting of these restrictions. As the verdict of the Constitutional Council about the vaccine pass is expected for Friday January 21, 2022, the government has gathered for a health defense council on Thursday.

Following the ministerial council, Jean Castex delivered a press conference with Health Minister Olivier Véran. The French Prime Minister announced it will be possible again to attend standing shows from February 16, 2022.
