Timescope is a young company created in 2015 by Adrien Sadaka and Basile Segalen. Their will? Putting virtual reality at the service of the varied players in tourism thanks to special binoculars: looking in the Timescope enables passersby to dive into history.

Look into VR helmets and travel in time! Yes, Timescope terminals allow to screen 3D historic reconstitution and realistic photos in the streets for a travel straight through time.

If you’ve always dreamed of looking at the Place la Bastille in 1419, the Place de Grève in 1789 or the Seine banks in the Middle-Ages, Timescope is here to make your dreams come true. For instance, the Seine riverbanks terminal, the only free terminal, “is very appreciated by 6-7-year-old children and their parents, as well as teenagers who almost discover a passion for History”, the CEO says.

Today, Timescope terminals are set in Paris and many French cities:

  • Place de la Bastille, Paris 11th arrondissement

  • Parc Rives de Seine, Paris 4th arrondissement

  • Le Havre

  • Paris airports

According to one of the founders, Adrien Sadaka, Timescope virtual reality terminal is not only a true transgenerational tool, but also a real tool to promote the heritage and suitable for all audiences. This will to make users dive into history comes from a trip to Pompei. As they came to see the whole city of Pompei, Adrien Sadaka and Basile Segalen have been disappointed to discover some ruins only.

Very easy to use, Timescope terminals include the latest technologies to be suitable for all audiences: a touch-screen, a VR helmet suitable to users’ height, a contactless payment system and several languages available, users are completely immersed in the environment.

Panorama reconstituted at 360 degrees, sound atmosphere, Timescope offers a very strong feeling of being there. “For example, for the Seine riverbanks, we have a real sound reconstitution and audio comments explaining what people see”, Timescope CEO explains. Put toward the ears, this directional sound system allows them to be fully immersed in the environment they observe through the machine. The young start-up allows you, if you need, to see what Paris will look like in the future, perfect to immersed yourself in the current project! Many companies and cities called in Timescope to convince inhabitants and future users about the territory landscaping projects.
