In the same line as Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, the first startup accelerator for former high-level athletes changing career, the Sport Social Business Lab helps startups to the service of a social or environmental cause.

The world’s first incubator for former athletes changing career, the Sport Social Business Lab hopes to play its part for Paris 2014 Summer Olympics. The aim? Providing a bridge between sports life and professional life to former athletes wishing to create startups committed to an environmental or social cause.

Created in June 2017, the incubator is supported by the Marie de Paris, Paris&Co, the MAIF and the European Union as well as… the Committee for Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. On the launch of this rather special accelerator, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo as well as Peace Nobel Prize 2006 Muhammad Yunus were here for the presentation of the first class, at the Canaux. A class including 10 startups all turned towards a social project or one in favor of the environment. Olympic champions or vice-champions Teddy Riner, Tony Estanguet and Sarah Ourahmoune are the sponsors of this accelerator.

The mission of the lab? Helping athletes in their change of career with a devoted accelerator program. Personalized follow-up, training with experts in specific fields, help to raise funds: as many mouthwatering promises for all the former athletes wishing to innovate with the help of their skills.
