The Musée des Transports Urbains is taking part in this year's Nuit des Musées, this Saturday, May 18, 2024, and invites us to discover over 70 transport vehicles dating from 1863 to the present day.

Horse-drawn omnibuses, buses, streetcars, trolleybuses... Head to the Musée des Transports Urbains this Saturday, May 18, 2024, for a visit with an unusual theme. For this year's Nuit des Musées, the museum, located in the town of Chelles, is opening its doors free of charge for an exceptional nocturne.

Created in 1957 by theAssociation pour le Musée des Transports Urbains, Interurbains et Ruraux (AMTUIR), the museum boasts a large collection of over 130 preserved and maintained vehicles, dating from 1863 to the present day. These life-size vehicles, scale models, models, books, photographs and other historical items take us on a real journey back in time.

Among the vehicles on display are buses and motrice n°1 from the Versailles tramway, horse-drawn omnibuses and tramways, Paris metro cars, mechanical and steam tramways and passenger cars (urban and secondary), electric, rack and pinion and funicular tramways (urban, interurban and secondary), trolleybuses and buses and coaches.
