Citéco in the 17th arrondissement is getting ready for a special nocturne on May 18, 2024. It's an opportunity to conquer the Hôtel Gaillard, which, behind its neo-renaissance façade, reveals a special museum that takes an educational look behind the scenes of the economy. Here's the program for Nuit des Musées 2024 at the Cité de l'économie.
A day exploring the history and heritage of the 17th arrondissement! Start your discovery with a lecture on the history of the Plaine Monceau, an agricultural area transformed into a symbol of urban modernity by visionaries such as Napoleon III and Baron Haussmann.
Then, in the early afternoon, let yourself be carried away on a stroll that will reveal the secrets and anecdotes of the bankers and artists who have left their mark on this illustrious district.
As night falls, join Citéco for a musical show to mark European Museum Night. In "Quand Rossini s'invite chez Emile Gaillard", four musicians and an actor relive the sparkling works of the young Rossini, in the festive spirit of the salons of the era, when people talked as much about food as they did about music! Immerse yourself in this vibrant atmosphere, where lively conversation about food, art and money was commonplace.
11am: Lecture "La Plaine Monceau: histoire et urbanisation", hosted by Patrick Rollot. Auditorium. Duration: 1h30.
2h30: Guided walk "Bankers and artists of the Plaine Monceau". Departure point: Citéco entrance. Duration: 2 hours. In partnership with the association Histoire & Patrimoine Paris 17ème.
