The Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace (Air and Space Museum ) welcomes us for a special evening on Saturday, May 18, 2024, to celebrate the Nuit des Musées (Night of the Museums)! Come and discover the museum and explore the Earth as seen from the sky and from space: visits, events and new experiences will take you up high and help you rediscover the hidden beauties of our planet.

In addition to guided tours specially created for the occasion, the museum invites you to take a look at the Planetarium, the simulators and the many collectibles.

Located atParis-Le Bourget airport, Europe's leading business airport, the Musée de l'Air et de l' Espace is one of the world's leading aeronautical museums, thanks to its age and collections. It boasts a remarkable historical heritage: a collection of over 40,000 objects, built up since the early 20th century and protected by the status of Musée de France.

The Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace can thus present its many visitors with around 100 of the 400aircraft in its collections, from the very first aeroplanes to Concorde, via the "Point d'Interrogation" and the Spitfire. The museum also boasts an exceptional collection ofworks of art, models, engravings, toys and ethnographic objects.

Nuit des Musées 2024 program at the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace

  • European Museum Night is back on Saturday, May 18! To mark the occasion, the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace welcomes you free of charge from 6pm to 11pm. Take off on a journey into the heart of the night, with a host of events and guided tours specially designed for the event, and stop off at the planetarium, in the control tower and in front of our many collectibles.

  • Aerial dance
    6pm to 11pm
Make way for the performance of the body in its artistic dimension, where poetry and physical prowess meet: for the first time, the museum welcomes an aerial acrobatics show. In the enchanting setting of the Salle des huit colonnes, admire circus artists who defy the void and weightlessness: fabric and hoop alternate to create an aerial ballet reminiscent of the audacity of the Pionniers de l'Air of yesterday and today.
Several sessions lasting just a few minutes will be offered throughout the evening.

  • Planetarium sessions: The sky of extremes
    7pm, 7:35pm, 8:10pm, 8:45pm, 10pm, 10:35pm
How many stars are visible to the naked eye? Which is the hottest planet in the Solar System? How fast do the winds of gas giant planets blow? What's the biggest mountain in our planetary system? There's talk of thousands of worlds, but how many have we actually detected? The museum invites you to discover these astonishing phenomena with the help of an optomechanical projection system that has continued to amaze thousands of people for almost a quarter of a century!

  • Helicopter workshop
    19h, 20h30, 22h
The helicopter is 100 years old! On May 4, 1924, engineer and biologist Etienne Œhmichen became the first person in the world to fly a one-kilometer closed circuit vertical take-off aircraft. Build your own model helicopter, and learn about its various parts with the help of a mediator.
Visitors will leave the workshop with a model helicopter and a wealth of knowledge.

Ideal for a discovery outing for flight and space enthusiasts, or for young people in search of new discoveries.
