In art, aesthetic contemplation is a concept dating back to the Greek philosophers. Through the observation of any work of art, it enables the individual to free himself from negative emotions.
Take the time to contemplate and take part in a slow race to take the time to really observe the works of art. Keep moving like a marathon runner with a mind of steel - but be careful, you've got to be last!
The technique of chronophotography appeared only 50 years after the invention of photography in 1839.
This technique allows the chronological decomposition of the phases of a movement thanks to a succession of photographs.
This technique has long been used in the sports world to analyze the gestures of athletes.
Now it's your turn to take a series of photographs and find out more about the decomposition of your body's movements.
Oil painting has a long history dating back to the Middle Ages, and acquired its letters of nobility in 15th-century Flanders, particularly with Van Eyck. This painter brought to perfection the pictorial process of successive mixtures of mineral pigments, an oil medium and a multiplication of glazes, in successive layers; two major works bear witness to this: the Altarpiece of the Mystic Lamb in Ghent and the Virgin of Chancellor Rolin in the Louvre.
Until the 19th century, painters prepared their colors in their own workshops.
Oil paint is a paint whose binder is a drying oil that completely envelops the pigment particles.
Come and discover the complex manufacture of this medium with a visual artist.
