The Cité des sciences et de l’industrie takes part in Museums Night 2021 on Saturday July 3. Shows in the planetarium, concerts, scientific mediations... Enjoy!

Museums Night 2021 offers the participating institutions the opportunity to provide the public a new eye on their collections. Some of them offer musical guided tours, some offer dances and others, children activities... The Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie plays the simplicity card opening its doors to the public for free but without offering special entertainments with the Les Eclatantes event.

On the menu of Museums Night 2021 at the Cité des Sciences:

  • Requin Chagrin - Concert, 8 p.m., Auditorium
Listed as "indie rock / indie pop", Requin Chagrin is the French response to American Beach House. Dreamy female voice, enchanting music, melancholic lyrics... Everything is here to take the audience to a floating, fluffy universe. Free of charge, upon booking (named tickets).

  • Entre Terre et Ciel... Les lumières de la nuit - Planetarium, at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Understand the origin of the light phenomenon in the sky and find out more about light pollution. Under the vault of the Planetarium, look at the visible lights in the night sky. But all these light dots are not stars! Far from the light pollution, you can enjoy auroras with their strange lights, look out for shooting stars. Go and discover the solar system, planets, artificial satellites, and travel across billions of stars making our galaxy, the Milky Way.

  • L'Alter-Monde - Planetarium, at 8:30 p.m., 10:30 p.m., and 11:30 p.m.
L'Alter-Monde is a cybernetic garden. This project tries to develop an imaginary showing some symbiosis between the human being and a new-found state of nature. The main themes are cyborgs (a human being given mechanical or electronic parts), biotechnological mutations and questions about out to eventually exit the Anthropocene. Starting from 12 years old.

  • La Carte du Ciel - scientific mediation, at 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Go and discover the visible celestial objects filling our nights and leave with your own sky map! Constellations, planets and shooting stars will hold no secrets anymore. This entertainment is provided on the temporary terrace under the stars (and with music).
