Among the greatest museums in the city, there is the Musée d’Orsay at the top, set by the Seine in Paris 7th arrondissement. A magnificent museum you can visit for free and without prior booking this Saturday May 14, 2022, for the 18th edition of Museums Night.
For this special event, the Musée d'Orsay invites you to discover Aristide Maillol's sculptures in a festive ambiance, hosted by lecturers, curators, plastic artists and even living models.
IN addition to these entertainments, make the most of the museum's temporary collections. Among the masterpieces displayed at the museum, L'Origine du Monde (1866) by Gustave Courbet, Emile Zola (1868) by Edouard Manet, Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe (1863) by Edouart Manet, the Autoportrait (1889) by Vincent Van Gogh, the Little Dancer of Fourteen Years (1865-1881) by Edgar Degas, Les Raboteurs de Parquet (1875) by Gustave Caillebotte.

Introduction to drawing according to the living model
Floor 0 | Espace Opéra at 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Like in a sculptor studio, two professional models, inspired by the museum's sculptures, pose for a quick sketching session, supervised by a plastic artist.
Duration time: 20 minutes (limited to 30 participants / gear supplied by the museum).
Presentation of works by Maillol, Rodin, Bourdelle and Pompon

Maillol's art is actually not as simple or classic as it looks, and is presented by curators thanks to two pieces that exceptionally left the Tuileries garden to be displayed at the Musée d'Orsay:
