On Saturday May 14, 2022, starting from 6 p.m. to midnight (last access at 11 p.m.), enjoy a free tour of the Sculpture and Moulding gallery. Set in the Palace's small stables this is often litte-known by the public.
The Sculpture and Moulding gallery houses copies of ancient Greek and Roman statues from the Louvre. It also houses masterpieces made of marble from the gardens of the Palace of Versailles, stored here and there to keep them safe from erosion. This ensemble is one of the greatest Antique statue collections until the 18th century.
Make the most of this free evening - open without prior booking - and discover all these unfairly forgotten collections.
In addition to this free discovery, note the National Higher School of Architecture of Versailles and the Maréchalerie will also guide you through the different areas. Students will be here to help you make the links between the collections of the Palace of Versailles and the Louvre, themed on the biennale. As a matter of fact, from May 13 to July 13, the place is to welcome the Architecture and Landscape Biennale organized by the Ile-de-France region, with the "Visible, Invisible - Monumenta" exhibition.
A lovely program for an exceptional night in the Sun King's former house! Admission is free of charge, without prior booking. Please enter by the Petite Ecurie - Small Stables - between Avenue de Sceaux and Avenue de l'Europe. What a great occasion to enjoy #Versaillesbynight!
