Museums Night 2018 at the Château de Fontainebleau
On Saturday May 19, 2018 we make the best of Museums Night to discover or rediscover all over again the Château de Fontainebleau. Grab this occasion to freely visit the Château apartments remained in the same state since the reign of Napoleon III and admire a screening on the façade of the chateau returning on 8 centuries of history.
On this Saturday May 19, the Château de Fontainebleau takes part in Museums Night and promises a lovely intimist atmosphere between darkness and light throughout the château’s alleys. We walk the same corridors the greatest Princes and Dukes used to take, and which remained in the same state since Napoléon III and Empress Eugenie has left!

With over 1500 pieces exhibited throughout the 130 hectares of park and gardens, Fontainebleau is the only royal and imperial castle that has been inhabited non-stop for 7 centuries. Visiting Fontainebleau is enjoying an exceptional presentation of history, the history of French art and architecture.
For Museums Night, you’re invited to come and roam around the Sovereign Grands Appartements, located on the first floor of the château. The successive royal apartments open onto an outdoor walkway running along the façade and the oval courtyard.
The royal courtyard, the starting point of all the buildings which spread out from the dungeon will be exceptionally open for the Museums Night as well as the Galerie des Cerfs.

Eight centuries of history are screened on the château façade: in 2018, a series of photographs returning on the place history through sovereigns that inhabited it, the constructions of the renovations they carried out and the main works that marked their stay, will be shown to the public in the shape of a light show.
