Every year, she gets thousands of French people dancing and singing the night away. No, she's not the new artist phenomenon of the moment. But I am talking about the Fête de la Musique, which has been bringing us wonderful musical moments for over 40 years now.
Every June 21, this great, free, popular and festive event brings live music to the four corners of France. With the aim of giving a voice to budding musicians and novice groups, the Fête de la Musique is often an opportunity to discover young up-and-coming artists, whatever their musical style. From rap to rock, classical to electro, jazz to blues, reggae to French variety... there's something for everyone! So, every June 21, music takes over the streets and many other, sometimes even unusual, venues.
This year, theInstitut du Monde Arabe is taking part in the new 41st Fête de la Musique. TheInstitut du monde arabe (IMA) is a French cultural institute dedicated to the Arab world, located in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. Throughout the year, the cultural center offers visitors a wide range of exhibitions and events.
On Wednesday June 21, 2023, for the Fête de la Musique, the Institut du Monde Arabe will be staging a special evening, orchestrated by Omizs. To be discovered from 7pm onwards on the forecourt, this evening of urban and electronic music, with musical inspirations at the crossroads of East and West, will welcome Saliah, Small X, Tawsen and Dimeh-todo.
This year, the Arab World Institute is partnering with Omizs. Singer, rapper, photographer, director, artistic director... at just 26, Omizs is a colorful personality on the Parisian art scene. In 2021, he is launching Omizs Parties, a unique concept: for one night, his guests celebrate art in all its forms in venues where everyone can assert their identity, without judgment.
