What a fabulous musical journey the Lovemusic collective offers you to enjoy on Tuesday June 21, 2022, for the 40th anniversary of Make Music Day. From 7:30 p.m., the collective invites you to discover in the main drawing room of the Foundation of the United States, the American musical scene with Mouthpiece.
In Mouthpiece, American singer and composer Erin Gee explores non-verbal communication, using her voice as an open sound producing instrument rather than an identity material. Lovemusic offers the last cycle of pieces, Mouthpiece 37, an order of the collective, in a program shining a light on young American creation.
This June 21, Lovemusic invited Sarah Grace Graves – FEU resident and Harriet Hale Wolley grant holder – to take part in this experimental music project for voice. Sarah Grace Graves is an experimental music composer and singer living in Paris. Her music contextualizes voice and instrument in the performer’s inner landscape: emotions, physical feelings and memory of the senses. In March 2021, her experimental vocal recital Songs from the Chalet was released as part of the series of concerts Young Performers on Digital Stage by the Ensemble Divertimento. The artist performs her own compositions, as well as selections from Erin Gee’s Mouthpiece series and Giacinto Scelsi’s Canti del Capricorno.
