Every year, the Fête de la Musique returns to the streets of France's cities, to celebrate the return of summer, music, and good times shared together. This Wednesday, June 21, 2023 is no exception, with a host of concerts and performances planned in Paris and all the cities of theÎle-de-France region.
The Fête de la Musique became an institution in France in the early 1980s, thanks to the support of Maurice Fleuret, Jack Lang and Christian Dupavillon. For Maurice Fleuret, director of music and dance, the festival was an opportunity to showcase music of all genres, " a liberation of sound, an intoxication, a vertigo that is more authentic, more intimate, more eloquent than art ".
