It is an event highly anticipated every year, this is the festive and cultural event you do not want to miss: the White Night in Paris is back on October 1, 2022. And for this edition, get ready to live out an incredible experience. Yes, this year, the White Night - or Nuit Blanche - turns 20 years old!
As a matter of fact, every first Saturday of October since 2002, Parisians and tourists can enjoy museums and monuments by night, a unique occasion that is both festive and uncommon to discover or re-discover our heritage. From 7 p.m. to early morning, the contemporary creation in all shapes and sizes takes over the streets.
Like in 2021, the themes of art and sport will inflluence the participating artists. Paris 2024 Olympics being in everyone's minds! The City of Paris would like to emphasize "the cultural Olympiad" likely to "make art and sport dialog". This anniversary edition will also pay tribute to the previous editions of the White Night and creators who marked its history.
To orchestrate this night, the mayor entrusted the art director to Kitty Hartl - curator and programer standing out in the organization of interdisciplinary festivals. In 2004, she created the Cabaret New Burlesque.
What will this exclusive night provide us with? Well, you tell us... The Ville de Paris has launched a call for projects: all artists willing to can propose their works and ideas before May 6, 2022. "The Parisian and metropolitan edition of the White Night 2022 will shine a light on themes of garden of delights, party, and the breeding of art and sport. These themes, developed by the artistic direction, are not exclusive. [...] Whatever nature, your project shall enjoy its own financial and technique support, it means artists and project managers will have to plan the financing, and the technical support and required material to provide the project".

For 20 years, over 3,000 contemporary artists have enlivened the city with their creations. Thousands of visitors from Paris, France and abroad have come to admire works and take part in this major nighttime party scattering all over the city.
This 20th edition is very special because it is an anniversary date and the last time the event takes place in the Fall. The Parisians have voted: from 2023, the White Night will be held in June. This decision has been made following the latest editions ruined by the bad weather.
