Nuit Blanche is back this Saturday, June 3, 2023: from 4 p.m. until 6 a.m., hundreds of events await us in Paris and towns close to the capital. One question remains, however: how can we get around all night long? Do buses, metros and RERs accompany us all the way to the end of the night during this cultural event?
Every year, Nuit Blanche is a much-anticipated event in Paris and the Ile-de-France region, and it's out of the question to stay at home and miss this festive evening, for fear of not being able to get home at 4am. Only this time, you're going to have to do without the traditional arrangements put in place in the metros, RER and buses by RATP and Île-de-France Mobilités, to get around during this not-to-be-missed cultural event.
Usually, RATP leaves some metro lines open all night long, in addition to the Noctilien buses whose frequency is increased, so that you can enjoy the Nuit Blanche installations and performances all evening long. Unfortunately, this 2023 edition will have to go ahead without such transport. " This year, no specific transport plan will be put in place for the evening.The metros, buses, streetcars and RER will run at their usual times ", says RATP on its website.
This is bad news for all Nuit Blanche fans, who intend to make the most of every event, some of which can last until 6am. So what's the best way to get in on the action?
On Saturdays, the metros run until 2.15am. The RER stops at around 1am. The Noctilien network runs from 0.30am to around 5.30am. If you'd rather make the most of this mild weather, and get back into shape at the same time, take advantage of the self-service bikes and scooters in Paris. If you've got longer distances to cover (or tired legs) , cabs and VTC services are always available.
