A night skating rink with DJ set in Paris for unusual evenings

In Paris, it's not uncommon to see the emergence of totally off-the-wall party concepts, much to the delight of night owls. From immersive spots to roller dancing, retro parties, crazy cruises on the Seine and even karaoke, the capital's nightlife has something to surprise everyone. If you're looking for an unusual plan in the Paris region, then here's one that should delight glide enthusiasts and the brave who aren't afraid of a good time.

First of all, did you know that in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, in the bowels of the Palais omnisports de Bercy aka theAccor Arena, there's a 1,500 m2 permanent ice rink? It's the Sonja Henie indoor rink, named in tribute to the Norwegian skater and actress. With room for 400 people on this expanse of ice, this spot attracts winter sports enthusiasts and beginners alike. Of course, all equipment is available for hire, including skates and protective gear.

During the day, young and old alike can enjoy a leisurely skate or try their hand at ice hockey. But when night falls, the rink takes on a more festive atmosphere. On Friday and Saturday evenings, night skating sessions are held to the rhythm of a DJ set! A great idea for a before-party or an unusual date.

It's worth noting, however, that although the rink is permanent, it closes for part of the year for ecological reasons: so don't expect to be able to skate in summer! Prices vary according to whether we're in high season (autumn-winter) or low season(spring). We also strongly recommend that you check the opening times on the rink's website before you visit, if you'd like to take advantage of the Sonja Henie rink's night-time opening times!
