Nutcracker by the National Ballet of China at Paris La Seine Musicale

After Palais Garnier in 2009, the Théâtre du Châtelet in 2013, it’s at La Seine Musicale that the National Ballet of China will come from October 24 to November 4, 2018 with its version of the famous Tchaikovsky’s ballet: Nutcracker.

The National Ballet of China didn’t come to Paris since 2013, its return marks a remarkable event! And this return will take place at Paris La Seine Musicale with a very original version of Nutcracker to be discovered later this year, from October 24.

14 exceptional performances will be given with a live orchestra featuring 60 musicians and children of the Maîtrise des Hauts-de-Seine, as well as over 70 dancers!
We must say the stage will have to be reconfigured to welcome all these people and to allow the audience to have the best view possible of the show, likely to blow away ballet enthusiasts!

Nutcracker is one of the most famous and popular ballets we know, but the versions we can see are often quite loyal to the original work and so, very similar to one another. This magistral show with 2 acts and 6 scenes is a clever mix between the classic work and a nice Asian twist. Following Tchaikovsky’s music, artists from the National Ballet of China offer traditional Chinese dance to five us a delicious fusion of Western and Eastern cultures!

We gladly listen to these familiar tunes in a brand-new setting!
