On Saturday July 22 and Sunday July 23, 2017, the famous American festival Lollapalooza is coming to Paris. The lineup sounds promising: Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Weeknd, Lana Del Rey, the Pixies, London Grammar, The Roots, Liam Gallagher and Imagine Dragons.
Music lovers, we have some good news! The American festival Lollapalooza launched in 1991 by Jane’s Addiction leader, Perry Farrell, is coming to France in 2017.
Seen as one of the biggest festivals in the world, gathering over 120,000 festival goers per day in Chicago each summer, Lollapalooza has been created in the United States in the early 90’s. After a break from 1998 to 2003, the musical event returns in 2005 in Chicago.
Buoyed by this success, in 2011 Lollapalooza won over Santiago, Chili, São Paulo, Brazil, in 2012 before coming to Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2014.
But, the festival did not stop here since it even reached Berlin, Germany, in 2015.
In 2017, Lollapalooza is coming to France, in Paris, for its very first edition.
For two days from Saturday July 22 to Sunday July 23, the event will take over the Hippodrome de Longchamp with an explosive lineup!
In total, over 50 artists will perform on the four stages set on the racetrack pitch for two days.
On the menu? The Californian Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Canadian The Weeknd, as well as the British Liam Gallagher and the French IAM and La Femme.
Imagine Dragons, DJ Snake, Lana Del Rey, the Pixies, London Grammar, The Roots, The Hive, Editors will also perform.
Let’s recall that back in Chicago, the American festival welcomed artists such as Rage Against The Machine, Radiohead, Sonic Youth, Metallica, Cypress Hill, Pearl Jam and more recently, Lana Del Rey, Major Lazer, Foals, Paul McCartney, Florence And The Machine, Eminem, Arctic Monkeys, Kings Of Leon…
Finally, take note that the festival will also feature a kid area in partnership with Stéréokids and Pedro Winter, as well as a “Chef” area offering creations by Jean Imbert, a green area with Greenpeace and Sea Shepherd, and even a club night area with groups such as Savoir Faire and Yard.
