We still don’t know what they are for, but they definitely are part of the Parisian landscape. I’m obviously talking about the famous bandstands proudly set on Paris gardens, parks and gardens pitches.
On Saturday June 15 and Sunday 16, 2019 the weekend marks the return of the “Kiosque en musique” festival. The mission of this musical event open to all? Giving them their original calling back and putting them in the heart of the local life especially with the participation of bands coming from the local conservatoires.
On the occasion, dozens of orchestras will take over these cute stands to deliver Parisians and tourist many and free concerts for two days.
Encouraged by the Paris Music association in partnership with the Confédération Musicale de France and the Orchestre à l’Ecole, over 600 amateur musicians between 7 and 77 years evolving with harmonies, marching bands, choirs, brass bands and other bands will then play music in these famous bandstands.
On the menu? Eclectic program mixing classic and current music, as well as jazz and even world’s music.
Stay tuned to discover the detailed program of the Kiosque à Musique 2019 festival with the orchestras planned and the places to meet to enjoy this festive moment with your family and friends.
