What’s Going On is a show in tribute to soul music produced by Motown and Stax in the 60’s and 70’s in the United States.
The band will perform two concerts this September on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28, 2019 at 8 p.m. at L’Européen in Paris, a year after their previous performances in the venue, this is a new version of the show that will be provided.
In What’s Going On – The Show we find the greatest hits of soul performed by about fifteen artists who will bring the legendary Black American music from the 60’s-70’s live again on stage.
On the menu of this concert in tribute to this so influential music and that keeps on influencing today’s artists, “What’s going on” by Marvin Gaye, “Get Up (I feel like being a) Sex Machine” by James Brown, “Soul Man” by Sam and Dave, “Respect” by Aretha Franklin and even “Lady Marmelade” by LaBelle. Without forgetting Otis Redding and Supremes tunes.
For over an hour, this concert revives the spirit of these two record companies legendary of the Black American music. The atmosphere offered is a club’s. The big band reproduces the sounds and the arrangements of the time.
And you know what, this travel in time has been thought up by a French team, drummer Loic Pontieux and jazz pianist Vincent Bidal.
