Blur, Gorillaz, The Good, The Bad and The Queen and even Rocket Juice & the Moon…
British artist Damon Albarn is a hyperactive who always creates new projects. While he was touring Europe in the Spring 2019 alongside The Good, The Bad and The Queen, the singer, musician and composer is back with a new solo album inspired by the landscapes of Iceland, a country he fell madly in love with many years ago.
Called “The nearer The Foutain, more pure the Stream Flows”, this new album is to be discovered live in France this next Spring for two exceptional shows scheduled on Friday March 4 and Saturday 5, 2022 at the Philharmonie de Paris. On the occasion, this new masterpiece will be performed in two with an instrumental ensemble.
Including 11 tracks exploring the themes of fragility, loss, emergence and rebirth, the "The nearer The Fountain, more pure the Stream Flows" album pushes the boundaries again with magnificent orchestra arrangements.
For the reminder, Damon Albarn fell in love with Iceland, a small and fiery country during the Blur era. This is where he feels at home. He even owns a house and shares in the famous “Kaffibarinn” bar. The incredible landscapes and the surrounding nature in Iceland provide him rest and inspiration. An inspiration that gave birth to this new project, "The nearer The Fountain, more pure the Stream Flows" out on November 12, 2021 and live on March 4 and 5, 2022 in Paris.
Until then, we leave you to it with "Royal Morning Blue":
