On the paper, an a-capella singing band doesn’t really make us dream… And it’s because you don’t know yet about the fantastic Straight No Chaser.
Their “Open Bar Tour” will stop by France for one concert only. They will perform at Paris Alhambra on Monday September 16, 2019 at 8 p.m.
Straight No Chaser is a band founded in the University of Indiana. Their strength is their voices, the only and magnificent instrument of their shows.
Straight No Chaser came to Paris in late 2015 to meet their French public and the French press. They then delivered a series of performances at the Espace Pierre Cardin in February and March 2016.
Straight No Chaser includes a dozen singers covering all vocal tessituras and they only use their mouth and vocal cords to create all the sounds you hear during their concerts. Singing, beatboxing too, as well as choreographies and staged scenes are planned for the show.
They cover and adapt – sometimes even better than the originals! – yesterday’s and today’s hit tracks. Their repertoire includes – among others – Happy by Pharrel Williams, Marvin Gaye by Charlie Puth and Meghan Trainor, All About that bass by the latter, Sitting on the dock of the bay by Otis Reding, Lion Sleeps Tonight and even Billie Jean by Michael Jackson, Like a Prayer by Madonna and Take Me To Church by Hozier.
If you haven’t heard about them yet, we recommend you discover Straight No Chaser now and then to attend their only concert in France on September 16 at Paris Alhambra.
