A popular Irish dance at Paris Centquatre in the 19th arrondissement? Yes, and it’s this Sunday July 28, 2019 from 3 p.m.!

Ireland is given pride of place this Sunday July 28, 2019 in Paris 19th arrondissement. The Centquatre indeed opens its doors to welcome a popular Irish dance!

Organized by La Bâronne de Paname, this dance is inspired by the balls of the Lisdoonvarna festival.

The “Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival” is a quirky Irish event taking place every 160 years in September in the small village of Lidsoonvarna nestled on the western coast of Ireland.

The concept? Offering participants of all ages and nationalities to meet love while dancing!

For this ball scheduled this July 28, 2019 in Paris, Irish parlour music (waltzes, polkas and mazurkas) will mix with French music.

On the occasion, discover temporary band The Invincibles welcoming guest star and Irish music star in Paris Paddy Sherlock. Famous SOAS Ceilidh Band leader Ed Emery will make participants try their hands at “ceilidh”, the famous traditional Celtic dance.

On the menu too? Maria D’Arcy (dancer and performance artist) without forgetting the unmissable folk dancers.

So, are you ready to enjoy this popular Irish dance? Meet this Sunday July 28, 2019 from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Centquatre. And who knows, you may find love!

To sign up, simply click on “participating” on the event’s Facebook page.
