Michael Wayne Atha aka Yelawolf will come and present his latest opus called “Ghetto Cowboy” as part of his European tour stopping by France and especially Paris on Friday March 13, 2020 at the Elysée Montmartre.
If you haven’t heard about him even though he already released 6 albums, Yelawolf has been lulled by music all his life and especially by rock thanks to his parents. Later on, he became crazy about hip-hop. Yelawolf starts to write his first rap texts, then, based on his influences. The name “Yelawolf” is a reference to his American Indian roots (“Yela” means fire, strength, courage).
Before fully dedicating himself to hip-hop, Yelawolf was a professional skater. He puts an end to his sport career in 2005 after an injury and devotes himself to his other passion: rap.
In 2012, Yelawolf decides to create his own and independent label, “Slumerican”. Several artists will sign with this label such as Yelawolf’s long-time friend Struggle Jennings, DJ Paul, Bubba Sparxxx…
After signed with rapper Eminem’s Shady records label, Yelawolf innovates and releases his sixth studio album, “Ghetto Cowboy” with his own Slumerican label. The rapper declares in an official release: “This Ghetto Cowboy album has been the most gratifying to me as an artist being that it’s my first indie release on my own label. I have no one to answer to and that can be a scary responsibility”.
