Have you heard about Piano Day? Created five years ago by composer and pianist Nils Frahm, the goal is simple: On March 28 piano lovers are gathered for a day focusing on this instrument in all its shapes. So, why March 28 you may wonder… Simply because it’s been exactly 88 days since the year started and it’s the number of keys on a piano.
To honor Piano Day, ARTE Concert and Sourdoreille Production (in partnership with InFiné) have chosen to take over the magnificent Théâtre du Châtelet on Monday March 9, 2020 to provide you with a 100% piano night.
Moving on to the lineup, the different spaces of the Théâtre du Châtelet will welcome Francesco Tristano who’ll play Bach and Stravinsky, Vanessa Wagner & Arthur H for a creation mixing music and poetry, Shannon Wright to perform tracks from her latest album, “Providence”, and last but not least, Laake will play his upcoming album “O” said to be out in March.
Note that all those performances will be recorded on March 9 and streamed on March 28 on ARTE Concert.
The other good news is that this event will be free of charge. So, to be part of the recording, sign up to enter the contest opening soon on the devoted Facebook event!
