Coronavirus: Burning Man Festival 2020 switches to virtual mode

If in France major events and festivals are many to cancel or be postponed (Hellfest, Solidays, Lolla Paris…), events in the rest of the world know the same fate.

Thus, famous American festival Burning Man gathering 80,000 festivalgoers every year has announced the edition 2020 was cancelled. No temporary Black Rock City this year then.

But Burning Man is not done. Known for its eccentricity, the event has decided to innovate and proposes a virtual edition. Initially planned from August 30 to September 7, 2020 Burning Man will be discover in the “Multiverse”, as organizers announced in an official press release: “That’s the theme for 2020 so we’re going to lean into it. […] We’re not sure how it’s going to come out; it will likely be messy and awkward with mistakes. It will also likely be engaging, connective, and fun.” organizers said.
