On August 15, 2022, the gospel Total Praise Mass Choir takes over the Place de la Bastille for a great open-air and free show. For the Assumption, the Paris Gospel Festival throws a Paris Summer Gospel.

This year, the Paris Gospel Festival – yearly event dedicated to gospel music – hosts the Paris Summer Gospel, a huge and free open-air gospel show, on Monday August 15, 2022, at the Place de la Bastille.

As for the past Make Music Day, the Total Praise Mass Choir will perform on the Place de la Bastille. This is France’s biggest gospel formation including up to 200 singers and musicians.

Created in 2001 by David & Jocelyne Goma – bearing the flag of the Paris Gospel Festival – it is with the greatest American gospel artists the Total Praise Mass Choir has sealed their fame, namely Kirk Franklin, Richard Smallwood, Shirley Caesar, Donnie McClurkin, CeCe Winans, Israel Houghton, Marvin Sapp, Yolanda Adams, Karen Clark-Sheard and Kierra Sheard…

Gospel music being Christian music, this is not surprising that the Paris Summer Gospel lands on August 15, on Assumption Day. Every August 15th, Christians commemorate the assumption of Jesus’ mother Mary into Heaven. That day, according to the Catholic faith, the Virgin Mary has been bodily “taken up into Heaven” at the end of her earthly life.

If you happen to be in Paris this August 15, how about enjoying three hours of gospel, then?
