Opéra Côté Cour is a whole free and festive program expecting you on Sundays from September 8 to 29, 2019 at Bercy Village Cour Saint-Emilion.
Named “Opéra des Rues” from 2001 to 2009, this festival fills the Cour Saint-Emilion with famous arias and musical songs, in duos or performed by marching bands accompanied with accordion or double bass, one way or another.
The Opéra Côté Cour festival makes you discover opera in all its sizes and shapes since it’s in the open air and free of charge. It’s the occasion for neophytes and non-initiated to discover this art likely to surprise and even delight you!
To do so, Bercy Village presents a series of lyrical shows especially suiting the place, lasting 40 minutes maximum, in small group. Each performance is original and even quirky!
Program 2019:
September 8: Ah tais-toi tu m’affoles [Ha! Be quiet, I’m losing my head]
After listening to this recital, operetta will be a beautiful light-heart moment of shared pleasure!
September 15: Les quatre cents coups [Painting the town red]
Through Offenbach’s music, this crazy session confronts with humor their points of view about love with marriage and sexuality while joyfully torpedoing the reality TV universe.
September 22: Pourquoi tu cries [Why are you shouting]
Loyal to the project of traveling between musical genres, Virévolte lightly and elegantly goes on a great exploration from shouting to whispering, from Nina Hagen to Wagner, from Verdi to Rita Mitsouko.
September 29: Bastien Bastienne
A puppet opera for children and adults based on Mozart’s work.
Enjoy the show!
