Europe Day 2024 in Paris: concerts, entertainment and debates on the Hôtel de Ville forecourt

Every year, Europe Day aims to highlight citizens' initiatives in favor of living together and European integration. Celebrated throughout the European Union on May 9, this date commemorates the Schuman Declaration, considered the founding act of European integration. Every year, numerous events are organized around this event.

For several years now, the square in front of the Hôtel de Ville in Paris has been the venue for Europe Day. For this 2024 edition, Europe Day is not to be missed on Saturday, May 4, 2024. With the European elections just a month away, the event - organized by the European Commission and European Parliament representation in France, as well as the City of Paris - aims to celebrate people's attachment to the European project.

What's on the agenda? A festive and cultural day combining music, debates, activities and foodtrucks, all accessible to all. On May 4, a veritable European village will be set up on the square in front of Paris' Hôtel de Ville , with events and festivities putting the European Union centre stage.

In addition to the village of associations, Parisians will also be able to enjoy free family activities and sports, as well as foodtrucks featuring Portuguese, Italian and Belgian cuisine.

There's plenty of music on offer, with three free concerts, again in partnership with Europavox, starting at 7pm. This year, audiences will be able to (re)discover the French duo Pépite, made up of Thomas Darmon (vocals and keyboards) and Edouard Perrin (electric guitar). The group will take the opportunity to present"Les Années lumière", their second album released at the end of January 2024. Ukrainian band Love'n'Joy will also be on hand. Last but not least, Europe Day 2024 in Paris will be an opportunity to be charmed by the music of freekind. formed by Croatian singer and pianist Sara Ester Gredelj and Slovenian drummer Nina Korošak Serčič.
