Sortiraparis tells you, you’ll love lunchtimes and evenings at La Défense from Monday September 21 to Sunday 27, 2020! And for good reason, the Défense Jazz Festival is back on the Esplanade for an exceptional new and 42nd edition paced by free outdoor concerts.
On lunchtimes and in the evenings, varied artists from different musical backgrounds will perform. Last year, Gogo Penguin, Snarky Puppy, Matthis Pascaud, Kimberose and Avishai Cohen Trio put on a show.
This year, who will have the honor to walk the temporary stage set up at the foot of the famous towers of La Défense? Well, Ibrahim Maalouf, Cheick Tidiane Seck, Guillaume Perret, Belmondo Quintet, and even artists initially scheduled for the Festival Chorus in Hauts-de-Seine such as Ebony Frainteso or Altin Gün will join in.
In addition to concerts from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. during the week, in the evenings, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the weekend starting from 8 p.m., we remind you that the Défense Jazz Festival also hosts the Grand Concours National de Jazz open to emerging bands of all ages and nationalities, staying in France. The deadline for registrations is set for August 29, 2020.
Because of the coronavirus crisis, the festival changes its access conditions. Concerts are still free of charge and outside, but within a closed perimeter. Health guidelines will be implemented including controlled access and hand sanitizer.
The festival adds that the audience can enjoy shows while social distancing thanks to the setting up of:
