The Fête de l'Humanité is back. The event, organized each year by the newspaper L'Humanité, will take place on Friday September 13, Saturday September 14 and Sunday September 15, 2024 at the former air base 217 at Plessis-Pâté, in the heart of Essonne! As for the program, you'll have to wait a little longer, as the first names are due to be unveiled on Thursday, March 28.

Every year, more than half a million people gather here. This traditional event has been held since 1930, on the initiative of the press organization founded by Jean Jaurès. Yes, you've probably guessed it, I'm talking about the Fête de l'Humanité, more commonly known as the Fête de l'Huma!

After being forced to cancel its 2020 edition due to the health crisis, the Fête de l'Huma has returned to La Courneuve, in Seine-Saint-Denis, in September 2021. A special edition, as it was the last to be held in La Courneuve, on the Aire des Vents site, owned by the Département de Seine-Saint-Denis.

Installed on the edge of theAire des Vents in La Courneuve'sParc Georges Valbon since 1999, the Fête de l'Huma had announced that it would have to find"a new venue due to the construction of the future Media Village for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games". This has now been done, as the Fête de l'Humanité has invaded the former Plessis-Pâté air base 217, located in the heart ofEssonne, for the first time in 2022. In 2024, the legendary Parisian festival, created in 1930 by Marcel Cachin, director of L'Humanité, will make its comeback on this immense site for its 89th edition.

Come and experience it for yourself on Friday September 13, Saturday September 14 and Sunday September 15, 2024. As always, the festival will offer an eclectic program: music, a book village, numerous performing arts shows, film screenings, art exhibitions, not forgetting debates, round tables and conferences.

On the music front, a host of artists have already taken part in the festival, including Stevie Wonder, Cesaria Evora, Noir Désir, Jimmy Cliff, Juliette Gréco and Johnny Hallyday. So, who has the honor of taking part in this new 89th edition, to be discovered for the third time in Essonne? Just a little more patience... The Fête de l'Huma is due to unveil the identities of the first confirmed artists this week. Rendezvous this Thursday, March 28 at 12 noon to discover the first names of this new edition!
