Do you like to party? You love music? Don't miss the return of the Fête de la Musique on June 21! Every year, this popular and festive event is an opportunity for many musicians to make live music resound in many different places: from the street to institutions, museums, bars and restaurants, churches and cultural centers...

This year, the Fête de la Musique celebrates its 41st anniversary. The first Fête de la Musique was launched in 1982 at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture. That year, the studies and research department of the Ministry of Culture conducted a major survey on the cultural practices of the French. It was discovered that five million people, including one young person in two, play a musical instrument. From then on, Jack Lang, Christian Dupavillon, architect-scenographer, member of his Cabinet and Maurice Fleuret imagined a great popular event with the objective of allowing all musicians to express themselves and to be known. The very first Fête de la Musique was launched on June 21, 1982, the symbolic day of the summer solstice.

To experience a classic and original Fête de la Musique 2023, meet under the Louvre Pyramid in Paris on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.

The Orchestre de Paris and its musical director Klaus Mäkelä will give an exclusive and free concert on June 21, 2023, under the Pyramid of the Louvre, on the occasion of the 41st edition of the Fête de la Musique. Like last year, admission is free, but reservations are required.
