Back in 2016, Théâtre Mogador had to close because of a fire occurred on September 25.
After several capital works, the famous Parisian theater located in the 9th arrondissement is finally reopening in September 2017.
From September 28, 2017, spectators can even discover a new musical likely to please many among you: Grease.
Owner of the venue Stage Entertainment explains that they “already produced Grease in other countries and met a great success” and that they “are happy to reopen Mogador with a show that speaks to many spectators and that is full of energy, beat and joy especially after what we endured in September 2016”.
Stage Entertainment also decided to surtitle the show in English for the first time. Surtitles will allow the English-speaking public to understand the story thanks to a real-time translation throughout the show. For the best experience and visibility, we advise you to book seats located in the first balcony (“Corbeille”) and from the “Catégorie Or” to the 3rd category since surtitle screens are positioned high-up on both sides of the stage.
For the youngest readers, know that Grease has been created in 1971 by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, out on Valentine’s Day 1972 and played 3,388 times in Broadway during its first run.
Let’s also recall that these past few years, Théâtre Mogador housed many successful musicals such as Bagdad Café, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Sister Act, Beauty and The Beast, The Fearless Vampire Killers and Cats.
For the record, Théâtre Mogador organizes premieres of Grease from September 17 to 27, 2017 (included). These sessions allow producers and the cast to improve the show quality. Therefore, you’ll be charged a lower fee.
The theater also plans a surprise evening on Wednesday September 27. For the occasion, come dressed in black and pink! This show will have many particular animations but no discount will be provided.
