83 years of experience, hundreds of thousands of yearly spectators, an always new program, expert acrobats from all over the globe… There is nothing to say, Bouglione circus knows how to work properly.
Set within Cirque d’Hiver since 1934, the cirquester family always dares to invite strangers from abroad and noticed for their taste of the extreme to join their brothers and cousins.
This year shows this aspect even more than usual since the brand-new show is called “Extra”and has many surprises in store that you can discover from October 6, 2018 to March 17, 2019!
As usual, Cirque Bouglione show starts with a ballet of lights. Then, we hear the gong, the band plays live and here comes the show.
This year, Extra gives pride of place to clowns with two duets of clowns that will come back several times while last year, the star of "Exploit" was the canonball woman, a very impressive act.
Frist of all, the Wolf Brothers, clowns in kilt, acrobats, following a series of stunts and capers with music from afar inspired by Celtic tradition. Then, the American Steve and Ryan, Extra common thread with their multiple numbers. The first act is very simple: they spit water onto one another. The idea is very simple and yet very funny. And kids love it.
Liviu Tudor, an artist handling the balancing plates, also gives his performance some clown-like aspects with his loyal assistant, his small prankster dog.
But Cirque Bouglione hasn't forget animals. There have been numbers with cats, penguins, wild cats for the past few years, in 2018, Joseph Bouglione presents a number of training with wonderful black horses. As for Regina Bouglione, this year, she doesn't ride a horse but comes with doves, that are quite lazy birds and a tad temperamental.
For the wild side, "Extra" called on the king of animals. Erranis came all the way with their Asian elephants for an act enabling them to win a bronze clown at Monte-Carlo circus festival. A very beautiful performance with majestic, beautiful and healthy pachyderms.
Acrobats are also heare in "Extra" with Brazilian company, The Flying Mendonça evolving with flying trapezes. As for Russian contortionist Andrey Romanovski looking like he's coming straight from a Tim Burton movie, we still can realize how flexible he is.
In short, children will love it and so will you! Because, we saw it and we can say that the experience is memorable and absolutely perfect to warm up those cold autumn and winter months.
One word: run to see it!
