White Night - Nuit Blanche 2017 in Paris: Olivier Dubois invites 300 dancers at the Canopée des Halles in Paris

For the White Night 2017, choreographer and dancer Olivier Dubois invites 300 dancers and 150 amateur musicians to take over the Canopée des Halles for a collective and monumental gesture. Don’t miss it on Saturday October 7, 2017.

Mille et une danses (One Thousand and One Dances), hundreds of dancers and musicians: for Olivier Dubois, general of the Centre Choréographique National de Roubaix (Roubaix National Choreographic Center), creation is not done without ambition. By gathering the sensitivities of dance and music amateurs, the choreographer offers a show without borders and filled with references.

The artist observed video games such as Tetris and thought up a project about automatic movements of the virtual characters and about the repetitive and synthetic music that forms the musical universe of video games. Mixing movie and games extracts, the choreography reinterprets these visual and sound forms coming from pop culture.

So, on the White Night, the Canopée des Halles turns into a giant lively video game thanks to hundreds of artists. Rather impressive, isn’t it? Mandatory stop!
