Dance invites itself to Lafayette Anticipations... The establishment offers visitors a dance festival, Échelle Humaine, from September 15 to 17, 2023. For this 6th edition, the festival stands out for its embrace of artistic movements, led by researchers, students and the general public, transforming and revealing the site's spaces of play, porosity and mutation. Over the course of a weekend, the event becomes a crossroads for diverse and polymorphous experiences, generating new ways of living and questioning the relationships that drive us.
The program features an eclectic mix of performances, installations, workshops, films, conversations and even siestas. Among this year's highlights, don't miss performance artist Ivan Cheng's new piece, Clarities. This work blurs the boundaries between language, genre and the spectacular. Apocalypso, an in situ performance by Luara Raio and Acauã El Bandide Sereia, unearths buried images and reveals, layer by layer, the state of a burning earth.
Alix Boillot presents Scénographie potentielle, an archipelago of abstract and sensitive forms constantly modified by interactions and glances. Paul Maheke 's performance L'Origine de la mort explores the dialogue between dance, sound and identity, drawing on tales of roller rink and vampire myth. Choreographer Taos Bertrand offers a workshop in collaboration with students from the Beaux-Arts de Paris, whose research will be presented at the end of the festival.
The Échelle Humaine 2023 Festival at Lafayette Anticipations also includes moments of rest and discovery in an ephemeral reading room designed by Tai Shani, as well as a cycle of films, collective practices and public meetings on the Foundation's floors. A not-to-be-missed event for thinking and living together the movements of the present.
