It’s not every day we can see a Taiwanese show in Paris, not a circus of objects show… So, seeing both is a rare luxury!
From February 14 to 17, 2019, the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac welcomes the Taiwanese circus company Formosa Circus Art that will perform “How Long is Now?” its circus of objects show at the Théâtre Claude Lévi-Strauss. Because yes, the Musée du Quai Branly is big enough to house a theater within its walls.
Shoes, umbrellas, buckets of every colors, white bread slices, brooms and cans of all sizes and shapes, chips bags, household products, hangers, ladders, oranges, mattresses, pipes and even plungers are as many daily objects the eight artists of the company use to perform the show.
Dressing an ironing board, drinking from an umbrella, squeezing oranges in the back, ironing to cook a steak… Have you never thought about it? Well, acrobats from Formosa Circus Art will try and make these funny actions exploring the unimagined potentials of household items.
On the menu of “How Long is Now?”, crazy experiments, juggling, acrobatics, balance.
You don’t speak Chinese? No problem, the show is silent.
One thing is sure: with their funny show between a circus, an object theater and absurd show, these Taiwanese artists will surprise you!
