This Fall, dancer Marie-Claude Pietragalla was to come back on stage with her production “La Femme qui Danse”.
But her performances have been postponed over coronavirus.
She will then perform from September 23 to November 6, 2021 Thursday to Saturday at 7 p.m. at the théâtre de la Madeleine.
With “La Femme qui Danse”, Pietragalla celebrates her carrier 40th anniversary. In this show, she dances her life as a female artist.
Marie-Claude Pietragalla has been an iconic figure of French dancing for decades.
She makes it to the Paris opera dance school in 1973 where she in hired in the ballet company in 1979. Eleven years later, she is named prima ballerina under the leadership of Patrick Dupond.
Even though she has been a principal dancer from 1990 to 1998 at the Paris Opera Ballet, she is also very famous for being part of the jury panel of the French version of dance competition “Dancing with the Stars”, between 2012 and 2016.
In the meantime, Pietragalla has performed live on a regular basis, especially on her own. Therefore, she danced the floor of the Olympia with “Don’t Look Back”. But she also founded her company with Julien Derouault, the Théâtre du Corps Pietragalla – Derouault.
In 2021, she meets her public on her own, at the Théâtre de la Madeleine with “La Femme qui Danse”.
