Singing On The Roof company will play only five times the cult musical “Spamalot”, an adaptation of Monty Python’s movie “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”. Meet from June 28 to July 3 at Paris Funambule Montmartre.
After a French adaptation by Pierre-François Martin-Laval aka Pef le Robin des Bois [Pef the Robin Hood] at Bobino 5 years ago, “Spamalot” is back in Paris but in original version (think English), performed by a company of amateur comedians.
“Spamalot” takes place in a Middle-age England, while French people and the plague are devastating the kingdom, King Arthur and his squire are looking for knights worthy of the Round Table. During their journey, they run into a very ambitious Lady of the Lake and not so brave knights, anarcho-syndicalists… A whole bunch of madcap characters that will question their sense of the quest.
“Spamalot” is a funny, colorful musical with farcical choreographies. On stage, comedians are accompanied by musicians.
How about (re)discovering Monty Python’s hilarious universe? The place to be is Funambule Montmartre!
