On Saturday September 7, 2019 let's meet at the Louvre for a unique and free night open to all. A monthly night at the museum during which you can viist the musuem, observe masterpieces and experience uncommon activities accessible by booking!
During these free late-night openings, you can access for free to a large part of the Louvre: let's see the Louvre masterpieces such as Veronese Marriage at Cana, Winged Victory of Samothrace, Venus de Milo, Liberty leading the people by Delacroix, The Raft of the Medusa by Géricault and Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci... Come along and discover them all in a beautiful atmosphere, by night and most of all, for free.
Careful though, the museum won't be open freely: animations are planned in the Richelieu wing that includes the Cour Marly filled with sculpture, decorative art collections and Napoleon III's apartment. To access it, you'll have to book tickets.
In addition to these entertainments, the lucky participants can enjoy Dutch paintings, French sculptures and Napoleon III's apartments, all are set in the Richelieu wing.
With this event, the Louvre wants to make Ile de France inhabitants, young people and families come back. Free evenings are on a roll in Parisian museums: The Musée d’Orsay, the Musée du Quai Branly and the Louvre, the greatest museums throw themselves into organizing festive events where the museum offers something else than slowly visiting the museum in endless queues just to catch sight of a work for a few seconds!
If you don't book prior to your visit, you would have to wait quite a while, but it's okay since the Louvre is so beautiful by night that it's a go-to every first Saturday of the month!
