Paris-Plages 2017: the Louvre exhibits itself along the Seine

Published by · Published on July 7th, 2017 at 02:57 p.m.
From July 8 to September 3, 2017, the Louvre takes part in the Paris-Plages operation and sets up an exhibition of work reproductions from the Pont Neuf to the Tunnel des Tuileries.

I say beach, you say bikini body: the body is at the heart of everyone’s concerns in summer, no matter if it is fit, tight, muscled or nervous. The Louvre plays with the image we have of the perfect athletic body and dedicates a temporary exhibition to the movement that will last as long as Paris-Plages.

They are dancers, athletes, horseriders and are often depicted in painting and sculptures collections of the museum. A selection has been made to choose the most beautiful bodies in movement, the whole had been perfectly reproduced and exhibited on the Seine riverbanks, just in front of the museum.

This exhibition goes along a “parcours mouvementé” (moving tour) taking place all through the outdoor areas of the Louvre: courtyards, gardens, pyramid, you will explore the Louvre architecture in a more or less sporting way (suitable clothes recommended).

Visits will take place daily from 3 p.m. We directly sign up with the team of the Paris Plages area present every day from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. And good news, this visit offers you a free admission ticket (instead of €15)!
