Our review:

Well-known to the general public, playwright Alexis Michalik doesn't disappoint audiences. You're plunged straight into the late 19th century as soon as you enter the auditorium, with the actors already on stage and chatting amongst themselves. The staging is intelligent, effective and dynamic, leaving no time for boredom. We're quickly seduced by the accuracy of the actors and moved byEdmond Rostand's anguish. The playwright is unable to write his play and is convinced that it will be a flop. Benoît Constant Coquelin, who will play Cyrano, urges Edmond to continue. At the same time, Edmond finds himself in a love triangle between his best friend and the woman he wishes to marry. He uses this situation to write his play.

We drink in the words of Cyrano de Bergerac, recited by the actors during rehearsals, in this superb mise en abîme. The play ends triumphantly, and we find ourselves applauding as spectators and actors alike, the applause serving the play as well. A must-see play. Great Michalik, never to tire of.
