The production is clever, effective, and energetic, leaving you with not a moment’s boredom. We’re quickly won over by the precision of the performers and touched by the anxieties of Edmond Rostand. The playwright can’t seems to get his play written and is convinced it will be a flop. Benoît Constant Coquelin, who would later star as Cyrano, pushes Edmond to persevere. Meanwhile, Edmond finds himself in a love triangle between his best friend and the woman he hopes to marry. He uses this situation to craft his play.

We hang on the words of Cyrano de Bergerac, recited by the actors during rehearsals, in this superb meta-theatrical tour de force. The piece ends in triumph, and we find ourselves cheering as audience and actors, the cheers feeding the play as well. A production to absolutely must-see. From grand Michalik, a show we cannot get enough of.
