Open house at the Pré Saint-Gervais 2024 artists' studios: the original program

Artists are often shrouded in mystery: what goes on in their creative brains? Where do they find their inspiration? What's their studio like, what are their working materials like? What are their little idiosyncrasies?

Good news for the curious and art-lovers alike: some of these questions can be easily answered, thanks to the artist studio open house! This annual event is the ideal way to get to know the creative talents and artists of Le Pré Saint Gervais, in Seine-Saint-Denis. The 13th edition of this open house takes place on Saturday June 1 and Sunday June 2, 2024.

Paintings, photographs, sculptures, engravings, pottery, drawings, installations, performances, video, digital art, textile art, illustrations, collages and graffiti: all genres and all techniques are concentrated in the studios of these artists from the Paris region, who present their work during this free event.

In addition to tours, Le Pré Saint-Gervais organizes concerts and performances to liven up the weekend. This year's theme is "Art, the 5th element": come and discover how artists have been inspired by this theme to create unique works of art!

Details of the open house program at the Pré Saint-Gervais artists' studios:

• June 1st and 2nd
  • La P'tite criée (11-13 rue Jean-Baptiste Sémanaz 93310 Le Pré Saint-Gervais):
    
    • "ATELIERS NOMADES" from Saturday morning,
    • "LES PETITS FORMATS" by ATELIERS-EST artists,
    • installations, demonstrations, performances and workshops all weekend long,
    • Photographer Alain Genest and his portrait studio,
    • BAYALUCE painting, engraving, calligraphy and printmaking workshops,
    • DIANA KRAAY painting with mini-workshops
  • Jardin Le Pouce vert (36 rue Danton, entrance rue Brossolette): modeling workshop for children 2pm-4pm
  • Un tapis de poésie (7 Grande Avenue (Villa du Pré) at the bottom of the garden): poetry, transversality, performances
    
    
• Saturday, June 1 only:
  • La P'tite criée: inauguration & public vernissage at 11 a.m.
  • Designer's market (37 rue de Stalingrad, courtyard entrance): MOOD from 10am-7pm with numerous artists and craftspeople, concerts at 11am & 4:30pm
  • Un tapis de poésie (7 Grande Avenue (Villa du Pré) at the bottom of the garden): performance walk "Les funérailles de la Mamafica" at 4:30pm
    
    
• Sunday, June 2 only:
  • La P'tite criée: mixed media demonstrations by TERYL EUVREMER
  • Jardin des Sentes (Passage de la Mairie): ALEXANDRA CANDAN and BENOIT LECOMTE, dance performance "Savouring time" at 4.30pm & creative workshop at 5pm
  • Jardin des méditations (3 rue Jules Jacquemin): drawing, watercolor and installation workshops by La Rutile artists.
  • Un tapis de poésie (7 Grande Avenue (Villa du Pré) at the bottom of the garden): shared reading and improvisation session at 5 p.m.
